When a truck is disabled, the best decision is not always to send a mechanic to the road. The useful question is whether a safe, productive repair is likely with the tools, parts, access and conditions at the location. My Truck Repair Shop offers limited truck roadside diagnostics around Conway and the Myrtle Beach area when a technician is available.

Roadside call-out pricing is confirmed before dispatch

Roadside call-out pricing is confirmed before dispatch based on the location and service request. Roadside labor, parts and other applicable costs are discussed for the specific call. Availability is not guaranteed, arrival times are not guaranteed, and we do not advertise 24/7 emergency coverage.

Our regular shop hours are Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM-5:30 PM, with weekends closed. Call before requesting dispatch so we can review the location, symptoms, safety and likelihood that the needed work can be completed away from the shop.

What we ask before dispatch

  • Truck year, make, model and engine when known
  • Exact location and whether there is a safe work area
  • Warning lights, messages and fault codes
  • What happened immediately before the breakdown
  • Whether the truck starts, moves or builds normal power
  • Trailer information if the trailer may be involved
  • Recent repairs or replaced parts connected to the concern
  • Photos or video of the dashboard and affected area

This phone review does not replace physical diagnosis. It helps us tell you when a roadside visit is reasonable and when a tow to Conway is likely to be the better use of time and money.

What may be practical on the road

When conditions are safe and the needed tools or parts are available, a roadside visit may allow initial diagnostics or selected work within our truck, trailer, diesel, electrical, battery, tire and related service capabilities. The scope cannot be guaranteed until the vehicle is inspected.

Many DEF, DPF, EGR, SCR, electrical, transmission, brake, exhaust, A/C, programming or Thermo King APU concerns require more. Stable power, extended testing, safe exhaust operation, lifting, additional access or parts may be necessary. A technician may identify the repair direction on site and still determine that the responsible repair must be completed at the shop.

When towing to the Conway shop is the better choice

A roadside visit can add cost without reducing downtime when the truck already appears to need parts, shop equipment or prolonged diagnostics. In those situations, towing directly to 3236 US-701 Hwy, Conway, SC 29526 may avoid paying for a dispatch followed by a tow.

We may recommend towing when the information available makes shop repair the safer, faster or more economical route. My Truck Repair Shop does not claim to operate a towing company. Use an appropriate towing provider and call us before sending the truck so we can confirm access and current shop availability.

Why we are transparent about roadside limits

Our goal is not to charge for a trip that cannot reasonably solve the problem. A real repair may need a specific part that is not on the service vehicle, and the truck cannot always remain at the road while that part is sourced. Explaining those limits before dispatch helps the customer compare a mobile visit with towing directly to the repair facility.
